Memoir

When i was 11 years old I broke my arm. It hurt really bad. I broke my radius right in two and I fractured my growth plate. It also looked kind of gross to. I looked like a step. I broke it by falling off a horse that was running. It felt like it got ran over by a truck. It was just running along and I fell off , because I only had one stirrup. The other one fell off. I had to have 4 casts , because I had surgery. I had to have surgery , because they had to put my growth plate back in place. They put it back in place by putting two 3in. pins in my arm to hold it in place while it healed. Now my wrist is good. So that's when I broke my arm.

  1. I'm really looking for some sensory detail- feelings, sights, smells, what did that pain feel like? How did that ground feel when you smacked against it?

I once fell off a running horse and put a hairline fracture in my right hip. I vommitted due to shock and the pain in my knotted stomach was, at first, worse than the pain in my numb hip. But, I'll never forget how it felt when I met the ground so suddenly and the thoughts that whipped into my head...

  2. I've only broken one bone in my whole life. That was my left thumb. It sounds gross that it looked like a step. It sounds good, but next time you could try to write something that you remember doing at the hospital when you were there.

  3. i think you should decribe the pain a little more. ad some similies or mataphores to really spice this up.

  4. That was an interesting story. I really wish you would have told me what it felt like when you fell off. Was it scary? Did it hurt right away? Did it take some time for the shock to finally set in?
